Upcoming Closures:

  • Downtown Central, Island, and Rocky Bluff branches will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24.
  • All branches will be closed Thursday, November 25 through Saturday, November 27.
Know Before You Go:
  • Masks and social distancing are encouraged. 
  • The LITtle Discovery Center (for ages 2 to 5 and their parents/caretakers) is open by appointment Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 941-748-5555, x3807 to schedule your family's 45-minute playdate.

Input for the final Master Plan

We invite your feedback from the presentation on Manatee Libraries Master Plan. All feedback will be reviewed and incorporated into the final Master Plan by NSD, Library Administration, and Godfrey’s Associates to be presented to the Commissioners upon completion.

The Florida Library Association’s 2016 Library of Year and two-time Innovation winner, the Manatee County Public Library System supports the County’s growing community and visitors through a wide range of educational and technological resources and programs at seven facilities in downtown Bradenton (Riverwalk), the east county region, the south county area, Holmes Beach, Palmetto and Ellenton. This past year, Manatee Libraries was visited by nearly 850,000 customers who made use of our resources over 3.9 million times (a record high!). We offer a wide array of digital ebook/eaudio/movies, unique collections (e.g. early literacy kits, telescopes), databases, classes and special events for people of all ages. Check us out!
