Books by Mail
Eligible patrons may sign up to receive large print and audio materials mailed directly to their residence at no cost. This service is made possible by Manatee Library and the United States Postal Service’s Free Matter for the Blind or Other Physically Handicapped Persons program.
Homebound Delivery
Eligible patrons may sign up to receive library materials delivered directly to their residence on a scheduled basis at no cost.
Lobby Stop
Bring our Pop-Up Library to the lobby or program space of your care facility or retirement community. The Library’s monthly Lobby Stop will provide residents with assistance in registering for a Library card, accessing e-resources and e-reading materials, and selecting physical materials to check out from our traveling library collection.
Presentations, Programs, and Storytimes
Interested in an informational and educational presentation or storytime for your students, residents, or business? Tell us which library services, resources, themes/topics, or programs/activities you’re most interested in, and we’ll discuss how we can help!
Tabling at Events
Bring the Library to your fair, festival, open house, or other special event! Tell us more about your upcoming event and we can customize our information table to best suit your attendees. Based on availability, we can provide opportunities for visitors to register for Library cards and get assistance accessing services and resources, as well as provide giveaways and an activity.
Organization Library Card
Daycares, schools, assisted living facilities, places of worship, associations, businesses, or other organizations in Manatee County may be eligible for an Organization Library Card. Organization Cards are only issued by Library Outreach staff and cannot be issued at library locations.
- Access to borrow all print books, magazines, puzzles, paperback materials, movies, CDs, Library of Things, Kits, and Playaways at all Manatee Library branches
- One year of Library access to be renewed annually by designated contact. Not for personal use.
- The organization is financially responsible for all materials checked out on the card.
- How to register: requires an individual to register as a designated organization contact. The designee must complete an Organization Library Card Application, show their photo ID, and provide their business card, badge, letterhead, or other official documentation which indicates their association with the organization, and the organization’s contact information. Volunteer with Library Outreach! Volunteers assist with Homebound Deliveries and community events.
