Manatee County’s Medical Rear Door Assistance Program provides free garbage bin collection and return services for residents with conditions that limit their ability to move bins to the curb. Eligible applicants, verified by a physician’s certification, can apply by contacting the Solid Waste Division, and upon approval, sanitation workers will handle bin placement and retrieval on pickup days. This inclusive program supports community members’ independence and well-being by removing the physical burden of waste management.
Manatee County uses single-stream recycling, allowing all clean recyclable paper, cardboard, cans, glass, and plastics to be placed together in one cart for easy curbside collection.
