Women Veterans Week

Women Veterans can be found throughout our community, and most continue to serve in one capacity or another. Some continue to protect us . . . educate us . . . heal us . . . feed and clothe us . . . secure our finances . . . raise our next generation or contribute in other countless ways.

Unlike their male counterparts, female Veterans are much less likely to seek out other Veterans, join Veteran-related clubs or seek support. This week, Manatee County Veterans Services is showcasing a small sampling of the nearly 4,000 female Veterans in Manatee County who have continued to serve by applying the skills they developed and the lessons learned in the military and forged new civilian teams.

We are making a call to action to inspire other female Veterans to feel proud of their military service and continued efforts to build our community by asking each female Veteran to . . .
