The Black Feather Foundation is offering a Micro Mission in service of Operation Outdoor Freedom. This will be a hands-on day of service as Operation Outdoor Freedom is cleaned up. Black Feather Foundation is offering real work with real impact. Spots are limited. 

The event will be 11 a.m. May 16, 2026, at Peace River. There will be a small hike to get to the work site. There will be food and fellowship.

Celebrate America 250 by experiencing The Freedom 250 Mobile Museum at the LWR Library on May 22-24. The mobile museum will be in the parking lot of the Lakewood Ranch Library, 16410 Rangeland Pkwy, Bradenton. It will be open noon to 5 p.m. May 22, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 23 and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. May 24. 

The "Freedom Truck" coast-to-coast initiative is designed to bring immersive, interactive historical exhibits directly into communities nationwide. Each custom-built mobile exhibit features museum-quality interactive technology, multimedia storytelling and hands-on experiences that highlight America's founding, defining chapters and the innovation that continues to shape our nation's future.

Join us this Memorial Day to honor our fallen heroes. The memorial will be available from noon, Friday, May 22, 2026, to 6 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2026, at the Donald L. Courtney Monument Park, 176 Waterfront Dr., Bradenton.

Experience the Remembering Our Fallen photographic war memorial, a tribute to the men and women in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice since 9/11/2001, including more than 300 servicemembers from Florida. We stand together as a community to recognize their service and the families they left behind. 

This display is on for viewing at no cost.

Volunteers are needed for the 2026 11th Annual Sarasota Memorial Day Flag Placement at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 FL-72, Sarasota. 

Flag Placement at Sarasota National Cemetery will be held at 7:30 a.m. Families will place their loved one's flag at 7:50 a.m., remaining flags will be placed beginning at 8 a.m. Enter at East Entrance and park near maintenance. Rally Point is at the POW/MIA Flag Pole by 7:30 a.m. Bring a rubber mallet, a 6 inch Phillips screwdriver and a 12" ruler. Beverages will NOT be provided.

Flag Retirement will be 8 a.m. May 30, 2026, at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 FL-72, Sarasota.
