Manatee County’s Medical Waiver (Rear Door Assistance) Program: Making Waste Disposal Accessible for All

Manatee County’s Medical Rear Door Assistance Program offers curbside garbage bin collection and return for residents with mobility-limiting conditions. Eligibility requires physician certification and application through the Solid Waste Division. Once approved, sanitation workers manage bin placement and retrieval on collection days. The service supports independence and is provided at no additional cost beyond the standard monthly rate.
