Toilet Rebate Program – Save Water & Money

Manatee County, in partnership with the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), offers rebates to encourage residents and businesses to replace older toilets with new water-efficient models.

Who is Eligible?

You may qualify if:

  • You are replacing a toilet that uses 1.6 gallons per flush (GPF) or more with a high-efficiency toilet.

  • You receive your water from Manatee County Utilities or from the Cities of Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach, or Holmes Beach.

Not eligible: Customers served by the City of Bradenton, City of Palmetto, Town of Longboat Key, or Sarasota County. (Check with your local utility for rebate options.)

Rebate Amounts

  • $100 – Replace a 3.5 GPF toilet with a 1.28 GPF or dual-flush toilet

  • $100 – Replace a 1.6 GPF toilet with a 0.8 GPF or lower toilet

  • $50 – Replace a 1.6 GPF toilet with a 1.28 GPF or dual-flush toilet

Important:

  • Maximum 2 toilets per dwelling unit are eligible.

  • Do not dispose of your old toilet before your application is approved. The flush volume or manufacture date (for older models) can usually be found inside the toilet tank or on the underside of the lid.

How to Apply

  1. Log in to your Customer Self-Service (CSS) Portal.

  2. Select “Requests” and complete the Toilet Rebate Application.

  3. Keep your old toilet until your application is approved. Toilets may be subject to on-site inspection.

⚠️ Submitting an application is not the same as being approved. Disposing of your old toilet tank or lid before approval may result in disqualification.

Disposal Options (After Approval Only)

Once your rebate is approved, you can dispose of your old toilet in one of three ways:

  1. Schedule a bulk pickup through your CSS portal – $59 per toilet

  2. Drop off at Lena Road Landfill (3333 Lena Rd, Bradenton, FL 34211) – $5 if brought in a sedan or SUV without a trailer, $23+ for pickup truck (no trailers)  See dispose of Garbage at Lena Road Landfill.

  3. Bring it to a Community Cleanup event – Free disposal. See mymanatee.org/dropoff for dates and locations.

This program is cooperatively funded by Manatee County and SWFWMD.
