Who Can Purchase a Rain Barrel?
All Manatee County residents and businesses are eligible to purchase rain barrels. Each property is limited to four (4) barrels.


How to Purchase a Rain Barrel Kit

Manatee County Utilities customers can request a rain barrel kit through their online account. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Customer Service System (CSS) Portal.
  2. Select the "Requests" option to submit your rain barrel purchase request.
  3. You may either pay through QuickPay or the Phone Payment System.

Manatee County Interactive Phone Payment System:
Call 1-833-425-2099 (available 24/7) to make a payment using American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa credit cards, as well as MasterCard or Visa debit cards, or a U.S. checking or savings account. Please note: A transaction fee will apply to all credit and debit card payments

You can make a one-time payment online 24/7 using the same payment methods listed above. Please note: A transaction fee will apply to all credit and debit card payments.

If you do not have a Manatee County Utilities account, you can still purchase a rain barrel. To purchase a barrel, you shall submit an online rain barrel application (link at the top of this page), then make a payment via Interactive Phone Payment or QuickPay. Please submit the application prior to payment.


What’s Included in the Rain Barrel Kit?
Rain barrel kits cost $52.00 (including sales tax) and include:

  • A 55-gallon reconditioned plastic drum (colors may vary based on supply).
  • A debris drain, PVC fittings, and a brass spigot.
  • Assembly instructions and guidance for building a stand.
  • A homeowner’s guide from the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Pickup Process
Once your payment and application are processed, a member of the Water Conservation Team will contact you to schedule a contact-free pickup appointment. Appointments are required.
