Types of Commercial Garbage Service
96-Gallon Bins
- The minimum service available to commercial customers is one 96-gal bin.
- One (1) pick-up day per week on the same day as residential customers in the same area.
- An additional garbage bin can be delivered upon request at no charge; however, there will be a monthly service fee of $33.31 for each additional bin. You can request an additional bin on your CSS portal at mymanatee.org/css or call 941-792-8811
Dumpsters
- Available in various sizes
- Minimum pick-up of one time per week
- May be owned by the customer or rented from the franchised waste hauler
Compactors and Roll-Offs
- Compactors are not provided by the county but may be owned, leased, or purchased from third-party vendors.
- Roll-offs are available for limited materials.
- Requests for empty and returns of compactors and roll-offs must be received prior to 12:00 p.m. for next day service.

SOLID WASTE ENCLOSURES
- Enclosures are not to be used for storage.
- Only garbage and recycling containers can be placed inside.
- Enclosures must be kept clean and free of loose debris.
- Haulers will not pick up any garbage that may fall out of the container.
HOURS OF COLLECTION
Commercial garbage is collected Monday - Saturday, 5:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Extra Lifts (Extra Pick-ups)
- An extra lift may be requested at any time.
- A charge for the extra lift will appear on your next monthly billing and is based on the size of the container.
- Repeated extra lifts will result in an increase of container size or frequency of collection.
Gate Service
- Enclosures with a gate must be open during the hours of pickup on the scheduled pick-up days.
- For an additional charge the collector will open the gate for access to the container (This is called gate service).
- Gate service is available upon request through Utilities Customer Service.
Roll Out Service
- For an additional charge, collector will roll out or move a wheeled container to the collection vehicle.
- Roll out service is available upon request through Utilities customer service.
- A four-yard container with wheels is the maximum size available for this service.
Bulk Pickup
- Furniture, yard waste or shelving may be picked up upon request.
- Materials collected are charged by the cubic yard. For example, one (1) cubic yard is equal to one (1) washing machine. A bulk pickup fee of $59 per item applies.
Dumpster Dos and Don’ts
- Place regular garbage only in your dumpster. No tires, yard waste, hazardous waste, furniture, dirt, sod, electronics, appliances, pallets or construction and demolition.
- Keep garbage below the rim of the dumpster. Do not overload the dumpster.
- Keep access to the dumpster unobstructed.
Overloads: The hauler will refuse to service a container. An extra lift may be required at an additional charge if:
- If trash is filled above the rim
- If the access is obstructed or
- If trash is piled outside of the dumpster.
Commercial Recycling: Commercial recycling is open market and businesses must choose their recycling vendors. Download the Commercial Recycling Vendor List 10-03-2024.
HOLIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE
There will be NO garbage collection on the following days:
- New Year’s Day
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Presidents Day
- Memorial Day
- 4th of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
