FY2026–2027 Health and Human Services Investments

Manatee County is committed to strengthening community-based services that improve health, safety, stability, and quality of life for residents. Through the FY2026–2027 Health and Human Services Investments, the County will provide funding to eligible organizations delivering critical services in our community.

These investments support programs that address priority needs, promote collaboration, and demonstrate measurable community impact.


Information Session

Manatee County’s Public Safety Department and Community and Veterans Services Department will host an in-person information session to review the funding opportunity, application process, eligibility requirements, and key timelines.

Organizations interested in applying are strongly encouraged to attend.


Application Period

The application period will open on:

Monday, March 16, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. (noon)

Applications must be submitted no later than:

Friday, April 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

Late submissions will not be accepted.


Eligibility

Eligible applicants may include nonprofit organizations, governmental entities, or other qualified service providers that deliver health and human services benefiting Manatee County residents. Programs must demonstrate community need, organizational capacity, fiscal responsibility, and measurable outcomes.

Applicants will be required to submit a complete application, including supporting documentation, by the stated deadline.

  • Treatment of Co-Occurring Mental and Behavioral Health Disorders

  • Access to Care for Indigent Residents

  • Aging & Social Connection – Healthy Aging & Independence

  • Disability Inclusion & Access – Empowerment for People with Disabilities

  • Food Security & Nutrition – Ending Hunger & Promoting Nutrition

  • Criminal Justice Reentry & Second Chances – Community Reintegration & Recovery

  • Affordable Housing & Homelessness Prevention – Safe & Stable Housing for All

  • Career Development & Employment – Pathways to Economic Mobility

Additional information regarding how these priority areas will be applied, including any future application processes, will be posted on this page as direction is provided by the Board of County Commissioners.

Health & Human Services Review Committee

The Review Committee is intended to provide structured, objective input to staff using Board-approved criteria. Final decisions will remain with the Board of County Commissioners.

Approved committee membership is anticipated to include representatives with expertise in the following areas:

   • Philanthropic/Foundation Representative

   • Financial Expert (budget feasibility review only)

   • Housing Specialist

   • Medical or Public Health Representative

   • Licensed Healthcare Provider

   • Senior Services Advocate

   • Certified Contract Manager or Higher Education Representative

Manatee County Service

Service Output: Grant

Hours Available: Fiscal Year runs October 1 - September 30.

Eligibility:

Agencies serving the residents of Manatee County may apply if they meet the following requirements:

  • 501(c)3 status with the IRS, educational institutions, local, state, or tribal governments
  • Per Resolution R-23-145 agencies may not have an affiliation with an abortion service provider as defined in the Florida Statutes.
