Health & Human Services Investments – Upcoming Board Action
Manatee County Public Safety and Community and Veterans Services Departments will present an agenda item to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. to seek approval of the proposed Health & Human Services Investment Priority Areas and the creation of a Health & Human Services Review Committee.
If approved, the priority areas and review committee will guide the upcoming Health & Human Services investments application cycle.

Friday, February 6, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon).A mandatory in-person information session will be held on
Friday, February 6, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at:

Friday, March 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Proposed Health & Human Services Review Committee
Manatee County is also seeking Board approval to establish a Health & Human Services Review Committee to support the review and scoring of applications.
Proposed committee membership includes representatives with expertise in:
Community foundation or philanthropy
Financial or fiscal analysis
Housing and homelessness services
Medical or public health
Licensed healthcare provision
Senior services advocacy
Contract management or higher education
Additional details regarding committee appointments will be provided following Board action.

Hours Available: Fiscal Year runs October 1 - September 30.
Eligibility:
Agencies serving the residents of Manatee County may apply if they meet the following requirements:
- 501(c)3 status with the IRS, educational institutions, local, state, or tribal governments
- Per Resolution R-23-145 agencies may not have an affiliation with an abortion service provider as defined in the Florida Statutes.
