THE RESTORE ACT

The Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability, Tourist Opportunity and Revived Economies of the Gulf States (RESTORE Act) was created following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, which caused extensive environmental and economic damage to five states in the US Gulf Coast, including Florida. The RESTORE Act directed assessed penalties to the impacted states under several categories administered at Federal, State and Local levels.

WEST COAST INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT (WCIND)

WCIND Funding Applications for fiscal year 2023 (October 2022 - September 2023) are due to Manatee County by March 25, 2022.  
The West Coast Inland Navigation District (WCIND) preserves and enhances the commercial, recreational, and ecological values of its waterways. WCIND covers Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, and Lee counties, encompassing an estimated 1.1 million people. By collaborating, member counties benefit from a regional approach to maintaining public navigation channels and inlets, boating access facilities, waterfront parks, and piers and special structures.

PARKS, RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE MASTER PLAN (PROS) MASTER PLAN

The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan (PROS) Master Plan provides a 15-year blueprint for the County to develop and maximize recreation open space amenities and guide decision-makers on capital and operational issues, based upon priorities of stakeholders, demographics, trends in recreation, and economic realities.
