The Environmental Lands Program focuses on conserving local environmental heritage to benefit both current residents and future generations. Working alongside the Environmental Land Management and Acquisition Committee (ELMAC), the program advises the Board of County Commissioners on land acquisition, management, and public recreational programming decisions. Landowners voluntarily nominate properties for consideration, and the Board of County Commissioners has the final say on purchases.
