PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Manatee County, Florida, will hold a special meeting on September 15, 2026. The meeting is at 6:00 p.m. at 16410 Rangeland Parkway, Bradenton, Florida, for the purpose of considering the approval of the proposed Manatee County Pipeline Resiliency Facility Plan.

 

This hearing will include a discussion of the Facilities Plan and the financial impact on system users. The hearing is intended to afford the opportunity to individuals to be heard on the economic and social effects of the location, design, and environmental impact of the East County wellfield Pipeline Resiliency Project.

A portion of the funding for this project is anticipated to come from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Supplemental Appropriations for Hurricanes Helene and Milton and Hawai’i Wildfires (SAHM) program. Financial impacts on utility users will be presented at the hearing. All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard.

 

COMMENTS: This will serve as both the initial and final public notice regarding the project funded by the FDEP SAHM Program. Interested persons may submit comments, questions, or request documents and data relevant to this specific project by writing to Chad Butzow at Manatee County Utilities Administration, 3647 Cortez Road West, Bradenton, FL 34210, or by emailing chad.butzow@mymanatee.org. Comments should be sent in writing or by email with the subject line “FDEP SHAM Pipeline Resiliency Project Facility Plan” at the above address within 14 days of the date of this notice.

All interested parties may appear and be heard at the meeting with respect to the proposed Ordinances. According to Florida Statutes, Section 286.0105, any person desiring to appeal any decision made by the Board of County Commissioners with respect to any matter considered at said Public Hearing will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purposes, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Rules of procedure for Public Comment and Citizens’ Comments (including time limits) are governed by Resolution R-25-013, Restated Rules of Procedure (adopted 1/28/25).
