Free Tobacco Use Webinar
A free webinar, Tobacco Use Among Veterans: Context, Culture, and Practical Approaches, is being offered at noon Tuesday, April 14. Registration is required. One CE credit is available. The webinar speaker will be Andrew Ingrassia, MSW, CRPS.
The webinar will describe common patterns of tobacco use among Veterans and how the military culture and identity and exposure to stress shape use. It will identify how trauma, mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use interact with tobacco dependence in Veterans. It will apply recovery-oriented and peer informed approaches to discussing tobacco use with Veterans. It will recognize the role of lived experience and trust in engaging Veterans around tobacco cessation. And it will identify practical strategies to support Veterans interested in reducing or quitting tobacco use.
