FrogWatch USA Citizen Training Session

FrogWatch is a nationwide program that empowers volunteers to contribute meaningful data to help scientists better understand amphibian trends and the health of our ecosystems. The training is ideal for adults and teens interested in wildlife, nature, and conservation science. (Teens can earn volunteer service hours for attending this program.)
This is a four-hour training session designed for participants ages 16 and up, where attendees will learn to identify frog and toad species found in Manatee County by their calls and understand how to collect and submit data as part of a national effort to monitor amphibian populations.
Participants can attend simply to learn more about our local frog species or, if they choose, complete a brief identification test, and adopt a monitoring site for the season.
