Invasive Pepper Workday at Leffis Key Preserve

Help support our native habitats during this volunteer workday! Participants will work alongside staff to remove invasive Brazilian pepper plants along the shoreline between Leffis Key and Coquina North Boat Ramp. This exotic invasive species outcompetes native plants and reduces habitat quality for wildlife. Volunteer efforts will help restore native coastal vegetation, support wildlife, and improve the overall health and resilience of our natural areas. Program suitable for adults. Hand tools and gloves will be provided. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to work outdoors. Program sponsored by Oyster River Ecology in partnership with Manatee County.
