Give Veterans "Thanks in a Box"
Many Veterans find themselves in the hospital or in nursing homes with no family or support systems during the holidays. Our community can thank Veterans by remembering them at Christmas time with a simple gift. Help us honor our local men and women Veterans. Fill a shoebox, or donate items to be included in one. Don't forget a few little surprises and a Christmas card wishing them a Happy Holiday and/or thanking them for their service and for keeping America free.

Suggested items for your shoebox including travel or hotel size personal care items like shampoo and conditioner, body wash, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, comb/brush, lotion, sunscreen, emery board, socks, shaving cream, lip balm. for female Veterans, may also include scented soap, eye make-up, nail polish and lip gloss. Please do not include any items with alcohol, like mouthwash or aftershave. No razorblades, tools or pocketknives.
You might also include notebooks, pens, puzzle books, playing cards, stamped postcards, stamps, pocket calendars, magazines, magnifying glass or fun items like holiday figures, PEZ dispensers, a Santa hat, cups/mugs, stuffed animals or non-shatter Christmas ornaments.
Also needed are donations of shoeboxes, wrapping paper, tissue paper, scotch tape and bows.
