Volunteers sought for Patriot Day at Sarasota National Cemetery
In honor of 9/11, Patriot Day, there is a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Carry The Load is partnering with the National Cemetery Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, to offer meaningful ways for Americans to honor those who have served our country.
Volunteers at more than 60 VA National Cemeteries across the nation will help clean headstones and beautify the sacred grounds in tribute to our military, Veterans, first responders and their families.
Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, is participating in this day of service. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. and goes until 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025. Dress is casual and respectful. No open toe shoes or tank tops. The event will be outside. Please do not bring pets. Children are welcome but children younger than the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
