Friends 2025 Lecture & Travel Series: Tanzania & Rwanda Adventures: Pamela March & Ellie Fernands
Come along with authors Pamela Marck & Ellie Fernands as they entertain you with photos and stories of their trip to Africa.
1st Stop: Tanzania: Hear about their safari to Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro Crater and a lion kill (they witnessed) on the Serengeti. Revel in their search for the Big 5 and the Great Migration!
2nd Stop: Rwanda: They will chronicle their gorilla trek, which inspired them to write their children’s book, Jamani’s Lucky Day: Searching for Endangered Gorillas.
Pamela spent most of her career as a 1st-3rd grade teacher in PA, CT and MA. She founded a philanthropic organization for middle school girls in CT, was an ESOL teacher and volunteered in various schools, churches and communities. Ellie grew up in Massachusetts and enjoyed a career in education that spanned over 30 years. She went from teaching to becoming an elementary and middle school principal and finally an ELA curriculum coordinator.
