Poultry 101 Workshop
This workshop, held at the Manatee County Extension office, is open to all 4-H, FFA or youth that are interested in learning more about poultry.
Topics may include:
- Anatomy and terminology
- Intro into classes, breeds & varieties
- Intro into APA & ABA standards
- Diseases & Parasites
- Incubation, Hatching & Raising chicks
- Basic grooming & bathing
- Showmanship instruction
- Entry forms & rules
- How to get started
- Where to Purchase birds
The $5 registration fee is due in advance of the workshop.
Youth must have a parent/guardian/FFA advisor attend with them. There is no registration fee for adults.
It is highly recommended to bring your (1) bird with you to the workshop.
