Artificial Crochet Coral Reef Opening

Dive into an ocean of yarn! After a year in the making, we are proud to announce the opening of the Artificial Crochet Coral Reef Exhibit in the Valentine House at Robinson Preserve. More than 20 volunteers worked together to create over 100 pieces of coral and sea creatures in order to give you an immersive underwater experience. Come check out the exhibit and celebrate Manatee County’s unique marine life with a morning of activities and fun. Build and drive underwater marine robots, get your face painted for free, learn about the science of reef building, construct an edible coral reef, marvel at marine life exhibits, and dance and interact with an octopus, jellyfish, pirates, and a mermaid! Aquatic fun for the whole family. Special thanks to all of our partners: MarineTech, Coastal Planning and Engineering, Kajal, Misha, Claire, Sea Grant, and Natural Resources’ own Marine Resources Program. Please call 941-748-4501 ext. 4605 if you would like more information.
