Collaborative Action Therapy for Children’s Health/Wellbeing

Eligibility: 

  • Manatee County resident
  • Ages 30 months - 5 years,
  • Attend a licensed child care facility in Manatee County

Early Care & Education (Childcare Subsidies)

Program provides subsidized child care services for Manatee County children whose families meet the eligibility criteria. A referral service is provided for all child care services for Manatee County children, regardless of income.

Services also include: developmental assessments, feedback and stimulation activities, observation of children with possible delays, and helps to locate and obtain additional evaluations and therapies if needed from other agencies in the community who would best serve the needs of the individual child.

Early Steps to School Success

Program provides a home visiting program, which works with parents of children age 5 and under to support early language and literacy development. Parents learn to stimulate and support their child’s early language, vocabulary and literacy development and their children will enter school with the skills necessary for success in school.

Head Start/Early Head Start

Program provides early childhood developmental services in the areas including: education, child health, mental health, disabilities, family engagement and nutrition.

Home Instruction for Pre-School Youngsters (HIPPY)

Program provides home-based family educational support for parents of eligible children. Program provides trained coordinators to assist parents in preparing their children for kindergarten. Children who meet guidelines for TANF funded services are eligible for the program.

Practice-Based Coaching

Program provides training to three and four-year-old child care classroom teachers and child care center directors in the effective use and delivery of the Nemours Bright Start! Complete Program for Early Literacy Success Curriculum. Program coaches also periodically assess the children in the classroom using the Get Ready to Read-Revised and Letter Name and Letter Sound assessments.

Teaching Our Toddlers

Program provides parents of infants and toddlers with the tools needed to be an effective, informed and motivated educator of their child at the critical period of life when 85% of the brain structure is being developed. The program uses a home visiting model to provide services. Home visitors meet with parents one to two times a month, depending on the age of the child, to teach the TOTS curriculum and deliver the curriculum activities and books.
