Masters of American Western Art: How the West was Drawn

One of the greatest contributions to culture is American Eastern Art. Learn about how the west was drawn. From the early visionaries like George Catlin, Karl Bodmer and Albert Bierstadt to the New Olympians: Frederic Remington, Charles Schreyvogel (Teddy Roosevelt’s favorite painter), Charles Marion Russell. Also discover the illustrators who became great painters of the Old West, Elizabeth Barchus, Harvey Dunn and others. Learn about those artists who applied the ideas of Impressionism to American Western Art like Maynard Dixon. Finally, we’ll cover photographers who chronicled the Old West like Edward Curtis and the New West, like Ansel Adams.
