Oyster Shell Volunteer Workday
Working with Manatee CountyParks and Natural Resources Department staff, volunteers will be loading crateswith recycled oyster shells for later transport and placement in coastal areasin the preserves. Once in place, these shells will serve as a home for larvaloysters to settle and grow. Oysters play a pivotal role in local estuariesproviding habitat for a multitude of marine organisms while filtering water.Program suitable for volunteers 14 and up.Reservations are required.
