Tardigrades, commonly called water bears, are micro animals capable of withstanding some of the harshest conditions on earth. They can live anywhere from inside a volcano, to the bottom of the deep sea, to the moss in your own backyard. Learn about the adaptations that make these extremophiles such successful survivalists. Collect moss samples in the field and use microscopes to find any tardigrades or other microorganisms living in the moss. Program suitable for adults 18 and up. Reservations are required.
