Grafting Fruit Trees
Summer is the time to propagate tropical fruit trees by grafting and air layering. Wayne Clifton of the Manatee Rare Fruit Council will lead a workshop on basic grafting techniques for mango, avocado, carambola, and more.
Bring a grafting knife or other small sharp knife to try your hand at it along with any rootstocks and scions that you want to propagate (other supplies will be provided).
Registration and advance payment of $10 for materials is required. Check or cash only - make checks payable to Friends of Extension.
Call the Extension Master Gardeners at (941) 722-4524 or register online here.
