$10 Dog Adoptions at MCAS in October

For the shelter dogs at Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS), there’s something special happening this October. No, it’s not spooky sweaters or Halloween treats—it’s the promise of a better life. October is Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog Month, which means it’s the perfect opportunity to help our homeless pets find loving, happy homes. Currently, MCAS has 92 dogs and 114 cats at the shelter.

MCAS to Host Free Clinic at Rocky Bluff Library

Manatee County Animal Services and District 1 Commissioner James Satcher will host a free pet vaccination, microchip and licensing clinic for Manatee County pet owners on Friday, July 23 from 8 a.m. to noon at Rocky Bluff Library.

Cat & Kitten Adoption Fees Half-Off Through 6/30

June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month! All cat & kitten adoption fees are half-off: $12.50 for cats, $25 for kittens. This promotion runs through June 30.

$10 Adoption Fees Memorial Day Weekend

For three days only, Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) will be reducing adoption fees this Memorial Day Weekend. From Friday, May 28 - Sunday, May 30, all pet adoption fees will be $10 at both MCAS locations. Year-round, MCAS waives adoption fees for veterans, military and first responders.

MCAS HOSTS FREE PET CLINIC AT G.T. BRAY PARK

With Hurricane Season starting in June, Manatee County Animal Services wants to make sure pet owners are prepared in the event of a disaster. Manatee County Animal Services and Commissioner Kevin Van Ostenbridge are hosting a free pet vaccination, microchip and licensing clinic for Manatee County pet owners on Sunday, May 23.

$10 Adoption Fees Starting Friday, May 7

With Mother's Day almost here, Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) is offering $10 adoption fees for all pets from Friday, May 7 - Thursday, May 13. Adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate -- a value of over $300 in savings.

$15 Pet Adoptions Starting St. Patrick’s Day

The “Feelin' Lucky” Adoption Promotion runs from Wednesday. March 17 - Wednesday, March 31 at both MCAS locations. All pet adoption fees, for both dogs and cats, will be $15.

Fee-Waived Adoptions for All Pets Through February 28 at MCAS

In the spirit of the upcoming Valentine's Day holiday, Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) is offering fee-waived adoptions, in lieu of a donation to Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS), for all pets from February 13 - February 28. Adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip and rabies certificate -- a value of over $300 in savings. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $20. At the time of this release, MCAS has 47 dogs and 13 cats at the shelter.

Clear the Shelters at MCAS this August

Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) announced that it will join with News Channel 8 WFLA to host Clear the Shelters, the sixth annual nationwide pet adoption drive, from Saturday, August 1 - Monday, August 31. For the entire month, all adoption fees will be waived in lieu of a donation made to the Friends of Manatee County Animal Services (FoMCAS).

MCAS Offering Free Pet Food at Cat Town

Manatee County Animal Services will give out free pet food, kitty litter and pet treats starting today, March 31 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m at Manatee County Cat Town, 216 6th Ave E, Bradenton. The freebies, donated by Florida State Animal Response Coalition, Chewy.com and the Greater Good, will be given out all this week (from 10-2 each weekday) while supplies last.

Manatee County Animal Services closed to the public on March 17 at 5:00 p.m. In an effort to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), MCAS will be altering its operations with regards to intake at the center, in the community, and adoption of animals to patrons.

MCAS Clear the Shelters On Saturday, August 17

Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) announced that it will join with News Channel 8 WFLA to host Clear the Shelters fifth annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 17. On this day, MCAS will offer waived pet adoption fees as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to help families find and adopt homeless pets. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has resulted in more than 256,688 pet adoptions nationwide.

Manatee County Animal Services Announces Seasonal Hours

Manatee County Animal Services (MCAS) will be open 7 days a week starting on November 1. No one wants to spend the holidays alone, including our homeless pets who are looking for a second chance at a forever home. Through no fault of their own, they have been rescued by MCAS and now await a warm bed to cuddle up in and have a loving family to call their own. MCAS hopes that extending to 7 days a week at the Palmetto Location, will make visiting the shelter easier during this already busy holiday season.

Adopt-A-Palooza Dazzles and Clear the Shelters Coming Soon

MCAS and WFLA-TV / News Channel 8 (“WFLA”) is excited to announce the return of the popular pet adoption drive, Clear the Shelters. Launching in August and culminating with ‘Clear the Shelters’ Day on Saturday, August 18, MCAS will be waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats for this one day only. Manatee County residents are required to license their new pet for an additional $15 tag fee. All pets will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
