What’s Changing (Effective October 6, 2025):
Once-a-Week Pickup: Garbage, recycling, and yard waste will all be collected on the same day (by different trucks). Check your new pickup day using the Resident Information Tool: Click here!
Everything Must Fit in the Bin
Only materials inside the bin will be collected. Do not place items on top of the lid or around the bin, as this may prevent your garbage from being collected.
Proper Placement Matters
Place bins 3' apart; continue to separate garbage, recycling, and yard waste.
Yard Waste Is Now Plastic-Free
Yard waste must be bundled in lengths of 4' or less, and under 40 lbs, in compostable paper lawn bags, or in your old garbage can. Plastic bags won't be collected.
What’s Staying the Same:
Your Recycling
Keep using your 64-gallon blue recycling cart. The process for recycling remains unchanged. You will put your recycling bin out on the same day as your garbage bin and yard waste, starting October 6th.
Rates Are Staying the Same
Switching to once-a-week service helps maintain stable collection rates.
Household Hazardous Waste and E-Scrap
You can still drop off hazardous waste and electronics at the Lena Road Landfill for free. Annual collection events continue. More info: www.mymanatee.org/hhw
