Manatee County Opens Registration for 2025 Citizens Academy

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (April 15, 2025) – Manatee County invites residents to join the 2025 Neighborhood Ambassador Academy for an interactive 11-week program offering the opportunity to learn about local government and services available to the public.

The academy will run weekly on Friday mornings from May 2 through July 25, 2025, between 9 a.m. and noon, with no sessions on May 23 and July 4. Session may be held at various locations throughout the county, providing participants with a behind-the-scenes look at how County departments operate and insight into the decision-making processes.

Kicking off on Friday, May 2, the academy will open with remarks from Manatee County Commission Chair George Kruse. “The Neighborhood Ambassador Academy is a powerful way to connect our residents with the work happening in Manatee County every day,” said Kruse. “It’s about building trust, encouraging involvement, and helping our community better understand how we serve them.”

Led by department experts, the academy offers interactive sessions, tours, presentations, and hands-on activities. Participants will gain valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities local government faces, enhancing their understanding of public services and equipping participants with tools to become more informed, engaged members of the community.
