Financial Management Department
The Financial Management department consists of the budget, fiscal and procurement divisions for Manatee County. The Budget Division manages the operating and capital improvement budgets, infrastructure sales tax revenues and conducts financial analysis for all county departments. The Fiscal Services Division provides fiscal support for the Department Directors and managers for daily operations of county initiatives. The Procurement Division oversees the purchasing for all county departments and divisions.
The Fiscal Services Division provides fiscal support for the department directors and managers for daily operations of County initiatives. Fiscal Services staff perform highly technical, professional, and analytical work and participate in day-to-day activities related to the preparation, analysis, and maintenance of the County’s budget, capital improvement program, and revenue forecasting. Fiscal Services supports departments in preparing and administering their budgets; oversees analysis of departmental budget requests and revisions, assesses the financial impact of major policy, fiscal and operational issues; reviews policies, practices, and systems; identifies reserve requirements for funds and assures that the annual budget is balanced and in compliance with accounting standards, Florida statutes, and County ordinances and resolutions. They work closely with the Budget and Procurement divisions and Clerk of the Circuit Court to ensure continuity of services in daily operations.
