NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 125.66 of Florida Statutes, that the Board of County Commissioners of Manatee County, Florida, will conduct a public hearing in the Manatee County Government Administration Building Honorable Patricia M. Glass Chambers, First Floor, on July 29, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., or soon thereafter, to consider, act upon, enact or reject the following Resolution:

RESOLUTION NO. R-25-098

A RESOLUTION OF THE MANATEE COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, ESTABLISHING A REVISED FEE SCHEDULE FOR PHOSPHATE MINING RELATED ACTIVITIES; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS; ESTABLISHING AN IMPLEMENTATION DATE; REPEALING AND SUPERSEDING CONFLICTING RESOLUTIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Interested parties may appear and be heard at the meeting with respect to the proposed Resolution and related Ordinance. Pursuant to Section 286.0105 of Florida Statutes, if any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter to be considered at the meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose, she or he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record would include any testimony or evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. 

The proposed Resolution and related Ordinance are available for public inspection at the offices of the Manatee County Natural Resources Department, 1501 Dam Road, Bradenton, FL 34212, during regular business hours. A reasonable charge may be made for the provision of copies.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 125.66(2)(a), Florida Statutes, that the Board of County Commissioners of Manatee County, Florida, will conduct a public hearing on July 29, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the Commission Chambers, located on the first floor of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida, to consider the following ordinance:

ORDINANCE NO. 25-13

AN ORDINANCE OF MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING ARTICLE XI, CHAPTER 2-2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES REGARDING CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENING FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY CRITICAL POSITIONS; REMOVING TITLES; PROVIDING FOR  GENERAL BACKGROUND CHECKS  AND SPECIAL CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECKS; RESTRICTING ACCESS TO RESULTS OF CRIMINAL HISTORY RECORDS CHECKS TO AUTHORIZED INDIVIDUALS; REPEALING PROVISIONS REGARDING RECLASSIFICATIONS, REORGANIZATIONS, AND ADDITIONS; RENUMBERING EXISTING PROVISIONS AS NECESSARY; MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Copies of the proposed ordinance may be inspected by the public during normal business hours in the Human Resources Department, 5213 4th Avenue Circle East, Bradenton, Florida.  A reasonable charge may be made for the provision of copies.  Interested parties may appear at the meeting or public hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed ordinance.

AN ORDINANCE OF MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISLHING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE OPERATION OF BICYCLES ON PUBLIC ROADS, PATHWAYS, SIDEWALKS, CROSSWALKS, AND IN INTERSECTIONS WITHIN THE UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA; ADOPTING SECTION 2-22-17 OF THE MANATEE COUNTY CODE; AMENDING SECTION 2-22-1 OF THE MANATEE COUNTY CODE TO ADD DEFINITIONS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
