NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 190.046 and Section 125.66, Florida Statutes, that the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on August 27, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. (or as soon thereafter as may be heard), located on the first floor of the Manatee County Administrative Center, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida, to consider and act upon the following matter:
ORDINANCE 24-82
AN ORDINANCE OF MANATEE COUNTY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO DISASTER EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT POWERS OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF MANATEE COUNTY; AMENDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 2-13 OF THE MANATEE COUNTY CODE; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
All interested parties are invited to appear at this hearing and be heard, subject to the proper rules of conduct. Additionally, any comments filed with the Director of the Natural Resources Department will be considered by the Board of County Commissioners and entered in the record. Copies of the proposed ordinance, the petition and other information regarding the petition are available for public inspection from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Manatee County Building and Development Services Department, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, 4th Floor, Bradenton, Florida. In accordance with Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matters considered at such meeting or hearing, that person will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, that person may need to assure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record would include any testimony or evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
Summary of Ordinance and Statement of Public Purpose: Amendment of Article II of Chapter 2-13 of the Manatee County Code changes the process is which Weather-Related Local State of Emergencies are extended. This changes the currently requirement to have a quorum of the Board of County Commissioners approve a resolution to extend a Weather-Related Local State of Emergency, to have the Administrator or the Director of Public Safety extend with a memorandum. The purpose of the change of this ordinance is to expedite extensions of Weather-Related Local State of Emergencies to better serve public health and safety and to ensure to stay congruent with State Emergency Orders and Federal Emergency Declarations.
Business Impact Estimate: An estimate of the direct economic impact of the proposed ordinance on private, for-profit businesses in the county is $0 to include: Direct Compliance Costs - $0, No new charges or fees associated with Ordinance change, County’s Regulatory Costs - $0, Number of Business Likely to be impacted - 0

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Manatee County will conduct a Public Hearing on August 27, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter as same may be heard at the Manatee County Government Administration Building, 1st Floor Patricia M. Glass Chambers, 1112 Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida, to consider and act upon the following matters:
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF BRADENTON, MANATEE COUNTY AND THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF MANATEE COUNTY
Request for approval of an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Bradenton, Manatee County, and the School District of Manatee County for the collection, transfer and expenditure of educational facilities impact fees in accordance with the specific restrictions and limitation as set forth in Manatee County Ordinance No. 24-22 and codified in Article VII, Division 2 of Chapter 2-29 of the Manatee County Code of Ordinances (as amended from time to time, the “County Ordinance”. The County Ordinance requires new residential construction to contribute, by the payment of educational facilities impact fees, its share of the cost of public educational facilities necessitate by such new residential construction in accordance with applicable law, including without limitation Section 163.31801 of Florida Statutes (the “Florida Impact Fee Act.” the County Ordinance provides that educational facility impact fees are applicable countywide and shall be collected by the County in Manatee County, unless a municipality elects to collect the fees imposed within its jurisdiction; and by entering into this Agreement, the City has elected to collect and transfer educational facility impact fees for the convenience of its residents.
