Creative Aging - Advanced Beginning Watercolor

Students are encouraged to bring their own materials. Paper will be supplied.
Class 1 – Watercolor techniques – wet on wet, dry on wet, wet on dry, dry on dry, and lifting.
Class 2 – Composition in watercolor painting. Understanding what makes a pleasing composition using lights and darks to enhance the project and how to achieve desired results.
Class 3 – Botanicals – Learning how to get that luminous color and transparency that bring botanical art alive.
Class 4 – Part 2 Botanicals, creating a botanical piece.
Class 5 – Painting birds. Birds are so diverse, from hummingbirds to egrets, the approach to each one varies. We’ll discuss feathers, bird shapes, etc.
Class 6 – Part 2 Painting birds. Each student will work on a project.
