Manatee County accepting applications for Construction Trades Board

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (June 24, 2016) – Manatee County has one opening for a general contractor position on the Construction Trades Board, a voluntary citizens advisory board that regulates and licenses local contractors.

 The Construction Trades Board can discipline anyone who violate applicable local codes, State Statutes or Florida Building Code provisions pertaining to the activities of licensed contractors, including the authority to suspend and or revoke their licenses and impose monetary fines.

 

Eligible applicants include contractors with five years of experience in the construction trade who also hold an active license as a Certified General Contractor with Department of Business and Professional Regulation or Registered. Applicants must also hold an active Certificate of Competency license in Manatee County.  Applicants must reside or have a business located in the unincorporated areas of Manatee County.

The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month on an as-needed basis at 3 p.m. in the First Floor Chambers of the Manatee County Administrative Building at 1112 Manatee Ave. West, Bradenton.
