MANATEE COUNTY, FL (December 12, 2023) – The Manatee Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has selected District 4 Commissioner Mike Rahn as Chair for 2024.
“I think we’ve reached a point of calm water,” said outgoing Chair District 3 Commissioner Kevin Van Ostenbridge in wishing his successor well as the new term begins January 1, 2024.
District 2 Commissioner Amanda Ballard will serve as First Vice Chairman of the Board next year. Second Vice Chairman will be District 5 Commissioner Ray Turner. District 1 Commissioner James Satcher will serve as Third Vice Chairman..
Commissioner Van Ostenbridge will serve as Chairman of the Manatee County Port Authority. At-Large Commissioner Jason Bearden will be Vice Chair, and the Second Vice Chair will be Commissioner Turner. District 2 Commissioner Amanda Ballard will serve as Third Vice Chairman of the Port Authority.
Commissioner Turner will also serve as the Tourist Development Council (TDC) Chair. Commissioner Ballard will be the Board's alternate representative on the TDC.
