Map showing the east segment of the Erie Road Improvements projectMANATEE COUNTY, FL (March 20, 2024) – Manatee County is hosting a Public Information Meeting for the upcoming improvements to Erie Road, from Martha Road to US 301. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Parrish United Methodist Church, 12180 US Highway 301 N., Parrish, FL 34219.

The meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to learn more about the proposed improvements to Erie Road. Guests will be invited to view design boards and plans. Project staff will also be on hand to answer questions and provide other project-related information. There will be no formal presentation, and guests may arrive any time between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The Erie Road Improvements Project consists of the reconstruction of Erie Road in the community of Parrish. The east segment of this project will widen approximately one mile of Erie Road, from Martha Road to US 301, from two lanes to four lanes (two in each direction), separated by a 22-foot-wide raised median and curb and gutter on both sides. A shared-use path will be constructed on the south side of Erie Road. A HAWK system, or high emphasis crosswalk signal, also will be constructed at Martha Road. Additional enhancements include median lighting and construction of a fully closed drainage system with stormwater ponds. Construction of the project is anticipated to begin in spring 2024 and be completed by fall 2025.
