This public-private partnership will work in communities across the county to help brighten roadways, streets and pedestrian paths with state-of-the-art LED lighting. The initial phases of this program will bring additional lights to neighborhoods in Districts Two, Three and Four.

“Light Up Manatee isn’t just about safety and crime reduction," said District 4 Commissioner Mike Rahn. "It’s about community building. Assuring that our citizens live in walkable neighborhoods with secure spaces for social interaction is the true essence of what Light Up Manatee aims to achieve."

In addition to the neighborhood enhancements, the efficiency of LED lighting has been proven to bring about significant cost savings.
