Manatee County invites the public to provide comments on the draft Substantial Amendments to the 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plans.

The Substantial Amendments reflect project changes approved by BCC Resolutions R-23-157 and R-23-203 that include:

Cancellation of project Contemporary Housing Alternatives of Florida, Inc (CHAF) - Affordable Rental Housing Development;

Additional Funds to project Manatee County Habitat for Humanity - Poling Gardens FY 2024 in the amount of $300,000 FY 2019/20 HOME and $361,731 FY 2021/22 HOME.

Manatee Children’s Services – Foster Children Shelter Rehab in the amount of $200,000.00 FY 2020/21 CDBG

2023/24 Meals on Wheels PLUS – Food Bank Expansion Pre-Development in the amount of $20,375.00 FY 2021/22 CDBG and $8,305.00 FY2022/23 CDBG

This notice is being published to make citizens aware that a formal 30 calendar day comment period commences on December 29, 2023, and will conclude on January 29, 2024. During this period, hard copies of the draft Plans may also be reviewed at the following locations:

Manatee County Community and Veterans Services Department: 1112 Manatee Avenue West, 5th Floor, Bradenton

Manatee County Library Central Branch: 1301 Barcarrota Blvd. W., Bradenton

Written comments on the Substantial Amendment to the 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plans will be accepted through January 29, 2024. Please address your comments to:

There will be a public hearing with the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners regarding the Substantial Amendment to the 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Action Plans, Proposed Use of Funds, and Proposed Budget on:

January 23, 2024
9:00 AM or as soon thereafter as can be heard

The meeting can be viewed live on mymanatee.org/mga and on Manatee Government Access (MGA) Spectrum channel 644, Verizon channel 30, and Comcast channel 20. To enter your comments into the public record for an upcoming meeting, you may do so during the meeting or in advance of the meeting at mymanatee.org/comment.
