Small Businesses
With the additional funding provided by the new COVID-19 relief package, SBA has resumed processing EIDL loans on a first come, first-served basis. The SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program is a longer term low-interest financing from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Additionally, as part of the CARES Act,
Paycheck Protection Program is designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their workers on payroll by providing each small business a loan up to $10 million for payroll and certain other expenses. The SBA has resumed accepting Paycheck Protection Program applications from participating lenders on Monday, April 27, 2020. We strongly encourage Manatee businesses to actively engage with their bank or credit union to apply for this relief.
The State of Florida has waived the 2% guaranty fee of the Microfinance Guarantee Program. This is an alternate source of financing for entrepreneurs and small businesses that employ 25 employees or less, or have an annual revenue of $1.5 million or less. Interested entrepreneurs or small business owners should apply directly to the Participating Local Lenders. The program provides guarantees up to 50% on loans of $250,000 or less.
