Trash Talk survey

Are you a Manatee County Utilities Department (MCUD) customer? If so, we want your feedback on how you use your current garbage, yard waste and recycling services and your opinions about changes that could be made in the future.

MCUD has developed a survey to collect this information to be used in evaluating new solid waste collection contracts next year. Customers can complete the survey now through February 15.

Washington Park Improvements

The Washington Park Preserve, located at 605 39th Street East, Palmetto, Manatee County FL 34221 was acquired by the County sometime in the 1980's. The preserve is currently a passive park without amenities. The local community has worked for many years to convert this area into a neighborhood park. Washington Park Preserve is designed to be completed in three phrases, only Phase 1 is included in this initial scope of work.

The Phase 1 proposed project scope consists of utilizing 11.5 acres for construction of:

  • restroom
  • two pavilions
  • parking lot
  • sidewalks
  • bike racks
  • landscaping
  • other park amenities

The project address is located at 3011 8th Ave E, Palmetto, FL 34221 and is set to start near the end of this month. To learn more view the park improvements plan.
