NoveList Plus

What is it?

NoveList Plus, powered by EBSCOhost, provides recommendations in fiction and nonfiction, by identifying read-alike titles, series, authors, and genres by matching setting, plot, and style.
NoveList K-8 Plus assists parents and teachers in locating appropriate reading material for children by matching their reading abilities and interests up to middle school reading level.

Go to the library’s website and click on the orange Research & Learning button and then on the Articles, Research & Information button.
From the A-Z Databases list, you can use the subject drop-down menu to filter the list by Books & Literature resources or find NoveList-Book Recommendations or Novelist K-8 Plus Book Recommendations alphabetically. Enter your library card barcode number where it asks for Patron ID.

Use NoveList Plus and NoveList K-8 Plus by 1) typing in your query in the Basic Search field, 2) choosing Advanced Search for more options, or 3) browsing by genre, audience, or featured read-alikes.
Basic Search allows you to enter a word or phrase. Search suggestions will appear as you begin to type your term(s). Narrow your results by title, author, series, or narrator for audiobooks. Advanced Search gives you options to limit your search by factors such as published date, author identity, or grade level.
Click on an item in your results list to view the record. The record will display read-alikes on the right-hand side of the page and various “tabs” of information at the bottom. You can print, e-mail, and save results to your computer.
Use the Quick Links menu at the top of the page or scroll down to the Explore section on the main page for more guidance. You will find Book Club Resources, Books in the Media, Diversity Resources, and more.
