Gale Directory Library

What is it?

Gale Directory Library offers an online collection of premier directories, expanding your power to search for directory entries in a variety of ways, as well as giving you quick and easy digital ways to view, store, and export the data you find.

Getting Started

Access Gale Directory Library through any web browser:

  1. Go to the library’s website and click on the orange Research & Learning button and then on the Articles, Research & Information button.

  2. Click on All Databases by Title and then on the Gale Directory Library link. You will be prompted to log in with your Patron ID # (back of card) and PIN number.

  3. Note": You may sign in with your own Google or Microsoft account it you would like to upload articles to your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, but it is not required to use the database.

Using Gale Directory Library

  1. Use Gale Directory Library by 1) typing your query in the Search field, 2) choosing more search options in Advanced Search or 3) browsing the directories by choosing either Encyclopedia of Associations or the Gale Directory of Publications and selecting a specific edition. You may limit your search to only current editions or expand it to include back issues.

  2. Once selecting an item from the search results list, the item’s web page provides directory information for the chosen organization as well as a citation from the source in which it was found.

  3. The Highlights and Notes feature allows you to make and save annotations on the item’s web page. You may print, email, and download a .pdf version of the directory information, as well as upload it to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

  4. The cite button allows you to create a citation for the directory information in multiple citation formats.
