Gale Directory Library

What is it?

Gale Directory Library offers an online collection of premier directories, allowing business researchers to easily search for information about companies, publishers, associations, and more.

Getting Started

Access Gale Directory Library through any web browser:

  1. Go to the library’s website and click on the orange Research & Learning button and then on the Articles, Research & Information button.

  2. From the A-Z Databases list, you can use the subject drop-down menu to filter the list by Business & Investing resources or find Gale Directory Library alphabetically. In the sign-in box, enter your library card number where it asks for a password.

  3. Note: You may sign in with your own Google or Microsoft account it you would like to upload articles to your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive, but it is not required to use the database.

Using Gale Directory Library

  1. Use Gale Directory Library by 1) typing your query in the Search field, 2) choosing more search options in Advanced Search or 3) browsing the directories by clicking either Encyclopedia of Associations or the Gale Directory of Publications and selecting a specific edition. You may limit your search to only the most current editions or expand it to include back issues.

  2. The Title List button shows all directories available in the database.

  3. Upon selecting an item from the search results, the item’s web page provides directory information for the chosen organization as well as a citation from the source in which it was found.

  4. The Highlights and Notes feature allows you to make and save annotations on the item’s web page. You may email, download, or print a .pdf version of the directory information, as well as upload it to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

  5. The cite button allows you to create a citation for the directory information in multiple citation formats.
