Manatee accepting applications for MPO Citizen Advisory Committee

MANATEE COUNTY, FL (July 1, 2015) – Manatee County has three openings for the MPO Citizen Advisory Committee, a volunteer group that makes recommendations to the Metropolitan Planning Organization on regional transportation issues.

 The Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) provides the Metropolitan Planning Organization with public views and attitudes on the transportation planning process. CAC members represent a cross-section of the citizens of Manatee and Sarasota counties, including the cities within the counties. CAC representatives are recommended for appointment by their respective units of local government and are appointed by the MPO Board.

 

There is one vacancy for a representative from unincorporated Manatee County, one vacancy for an at-large representative from Manatee County, and one vacancy for an at-large, minority representative from Manatee County.

 

Applications are due July 24 may be found online at www.mymanatee.org/advisory boards

 

The group meets at 5 p.m. on the first Thursday of months in which an MPO meeting is scheduled, with some CAC meetings scheduled on an alternate Thursday due to holidays. The committee meets in the main conference room at the Sarasota/Manatee Metropolitan Planning Organization Office at 7632 15th St E, Sarasota FL 34243.
