Recognizing a request from Tax Collector Ken Burton Jr., the Board today also unanimously approved the $375,000 purchase of the former ABC Liquor building at 904 West 301 Blvd. The 7,582-square-foot building is located less than half a mile west of Sheriff’s Office headquarters, 600 U.S. 301. Plans call to demolish the building and construct an 8,500-square-foot facility for the Tax Collector to better serve the community. The Tax Collector will reimburse the County from excess fees returned to the County each year.
