Manatee County Area Transit

Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) serves Bradenton, Ellenton, Palmetto and the Gulf Beach communities. Buses run 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday – Saturday. No service is offered Sunday (except for Beach Express). The fare is $1.25 each way; transfers 25¢ each — exact fare, U.S. coins and currency or M Card/R Card transit pass.

MCAT fixed routes connect with the free (donations accepted) Manatee Trolley on Anna Maria Island. Daily service runs from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. every 20 minutes from the Anna Maria City Pier to Coquina Beach.

MCAT fixed routes also connect with the Longboat Key Trolley. Daily service runs from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. every 60 minutes from Coquina Beach through St. Armands Circle to downtown Sarasota. The fare is $1.25 each way.

MCAT also offers origin to destination Handy Bus (paratransit) service by appointment for people who qualify due to disability.

MCAT will continue to be the major public transportation provider in Manatee County. MCAT will continue to improve the quality of life for County residents and visitors by providing, in a cost-efficient manner, a readily-accessible, intermodal means of mobility for those who want to use its services, and by providing alternative means of transportation to minimize impacts of traffic congestion on major roads in the county.
