Proposed Handy Bus Fare Modifications

Manatee County Area Transit (MCAT) is proposing modifications to the Handy Bus fare structure.  Proposed fare modifications include changes to both the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Transportation Disadvantaged (TD) one-way fares.  As the County continues to grow, the demand and cost to operate the Handy Bus service has also grown.  Changes to the fare structure will allow Manatee County to keep pace with increasing ridership demand.


Two (2) open house workshops have been scheduled to gather public feedback on the proposed changes.  All interested parties are invited to attend these workshops.  Dates, times, and locations for both open house workshops are as follows:

2015 Ted Nowosad Tour of Lights

The Ted Nowosad Tour of Lights will be held this year on Friday, December 18th and Saturday, December 19th.  The Tour of Lights is an annual event where Manatee County Area Transit and the School District of Manatee County take Christmas merry-makers on a 90-minute tour of decorated neighborhoods in West Bradenton.  The tour begins and ends at the State College of Florida campus located at 5860 26th Street West.  Start time is 6:45 PM on each night. 


The event is open to the general public on a first-come, first-served basis.  Participants are asked to bring a donation in the form of toys or food in lieu of fare payment.  For more information, please call MCAT at (941) 747-8621.
