Utility Work Agreement

Action Requested

Adoption of Resolution R-16-148 and authorization for the Chairperson to execute a Utility Work Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the relocation of  ITS Conduit.

Enabling/Regulating Authority

State Statute: 337.403 Requires the County to take action at its own expense to move its utilities upon demand from the FDOT.

Background Discussion

The FDOT is currently engaging in a project which involves constructing, reconstructing, or otherwise changing a public road identified as I-75 and SR 64.  The project requires the location, protection, relocation, installation, adjustment, or removal of ITS Conduit.

  • Design work shall be completed by County staff or consultant.
  • The FDOT agrees to reimburse County up to $155,642 for construction.
  • Manatee County will provide the final engineering design, plans, technical special provisions, and a cost estimate prior to bid phase.
