Background Discussion
  • The Cortez Village Historical Society has requested funding from Manatee County to cover the cost of government fees that must be paid in order to move the historic Monroe Cottage from Bradenton Beach to Cortez.
  • The property will be relocated to the FISH Preserve in Cortez.
  • County staff has worked with the group to adjust their plans so that fees can be minimized.
  • Approval of this item would provide authorization for staff to make the necessary internal charges and accounting entries to pay the fees on behalf of the applicant.
  • Funds will come from the Commissioner’s Reserve for Contingency.
