Authorization for Chairman of the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners to sign Ordinance 14-26 amending the Manatee County Code of Laws establishing procedures for the disposition of surplus lands.

Background Discussion

Ordinance No. 14-26 would amend Chapter 2-2 of the Manatee County Code of laws to provide for another alternative for disposition of surplus county real property.

This change would allow the County to use a Competitive Negotiation process as an alternative method of disposal for surplus county real property.   The Competitive Negotiation process is an open, competitive method that allows other economic or community factors, in addition to price, to be considered in determining the best overall value to the county.
