On September 9, 2014, the School Board of Manatee County approved and executed a Quitclaim Deed for the Rubonia Community Center Property to Manatee County. The property consists of approximately 3.5 acres in a small rural area in the north part of Manatee County. The property has been vacant since August 1, 2013.
Manatee County and the School Board entered into an inter-local agreement July 1991 to lease the property to Manatee County for 30 years set to expire July 2021. Manatee County subleased the property to United Community Centers, Inc., a non-profit corporation, to operate as Rubonia Community Center. United Community Centers closed the center in 2013 due to limited operational funding.
