Enabling/Regulating Authority
Florida Statutes Chapter 257.14 - 257.25

Background Discussion

The State Library provides annual operating grants to libraries under provision of Florida Statutes 257.14 through 257.25.

The amount of State Aid is based on the amount of local expenditures, less any state and federal funds from Fiscal Year 2015-2016. It is estimated the grant amount for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 will be $186,115.  The grant application is submitted simultaneously with the Grant Agreement.

These funds constitute approximately one third of the Library's annual materials budget.

The Library has received State Aid since 1971.
